Fahrzeugbeschreibung
Lotus Elise S1 Race car/road legal 190 VHPD LHD Original, like new
History: The car was delivered to the Belgian driver P. Struyf through Frederic Koninckx Motors dealer in 2.000, with the objective of racing the Lotus Cup Europe. Lotus factory informed the customer that the Lotus Elise 190 motorsport was not Road Legal in Europe, reason why the client asked the Hethel factory for the delivery of Lotus Elise S1 lightweight together with the factory Lotus MotorSport 190 kit (Lotus Special Vehicle Operations) conversion components to be upgraded by the Lotus workshop to Motorsport 190 Race car specifications, all documented. Thanks to that the car was registered in Belgium for road legal use, but also could be raced at the circuit.
It is a well-known racing car among the Lotus community, it campaigned from its delivery the Lotus Cup Belgium/Netherlands, and Belcar championships during 3 years with good results and podiums, professionally maintained and serviced, then it later raced the Dutch GT championship and the Belgian GT Endurance championship, obtaining several victories in his category in the hands of the pilot B. Ooms, second owner.
Years later the car was sold to M. G. Smith, an English well-known professional driver who had the plan to run the British Lotus cup championship, who made a total specialist workshop mechanical restoration in the UK (all documented); then after a change of plans it was sold to the new owner in Spain.
All the purchase history is preserved since first day, including the Lotus Delivery Order card to the dealer, Owners handbook, brochure folders, 2 keys, copy of the original Belgium registration as well as record of the races held, homologations, technical passport, data, invoices, engine maps, Stack owner’s manual, software...etc.
Perfect chassis (never damaged), mechanical and exterior condition after a nut & bolt complete restoration process, “push the button” race ready if it is the intention, or road ready, or both. It is legally registered and insured and with ITV (MOT equivalence in Spain) and Certificate of Conformity.
The original OEM colour is “New Aluminium metallic” B35, new professional painting, but was painted before in different colours upon its sponsors in race, from green, Pink, and matt black during racing period (see pictures included). Now has been fully restored back to its original factory colour.
