• Models Introduced: In 1959, MG introduced the MG A 1600, an upgrade from the earlier 1500 model. This new version featured several enhancements in performance and safety.

• Engine: The MG A 1600 came equipped with a larger 1.6-liter (1588 cc) inline four-cylinder engine. This engine produced approximately 78 horsepower, offering improved acceleration and a higher top speed compared to its predecessor.

• Performance: The car could achieve a top speed of around 95 mph (153 km/h) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 13 seconds, respectable figures for a sports car of its era.

• Braking System: A significant advancement in the 1600 model was the introduction of front disc brakes, replacing the drum brakes used in earlier models. This upgrade provided better stopping power and improved overall safety.
